Though little known to British
skiers and snowboarders Canadians know Kimberley Alpine
Resort as the "Jewel In The Crown Of Canadian Skiing".
Unlike its near neighbours Fernie, Panorama, Banff,
Lake Louise and Kicking Horse, Kimberley rarely
suffers from the extreme low temperatures which can be
found in these other resorts.
Its position in the Purcell
Mountains also means that avalanche danger is pretty
much non existent, yet its this same position which
guarantees it regular falls of fluffy white champagne

Season with just 17 feet of powder snow!

2008/2009 was another great season with
over 19feet of Champagne Purcell Powder Snow in Kimberly and for most of
the season there were no crowded runs or long lift lines on the
Kimberley Ski Hill Hopefully 2010 will continue in the same vein!
Having snowboarded for the last 7 or so
years it was a refreshing experience to learn from the kids and put on a
pair of skis again. There is a very definite movement by the youngsters
away from snowboards and back to skiing.

took during the last four seasons I will change or add to them on a
regular
basis and of course add new ones once this season provides me with
some more. Plus information on activities, vacations, lodging and more.
